Education-based Sensory and Motor Programmes

Future Steps recognises that many schools wish to support children with sensory and motor needs independently. We have devised manuals which can be used by education staff within the education environment to facilitate the development of children and assist them to reach their full potential.

Sensory Modulation And Regulatory Treatment (SMART) Programme Manuals (Nursery - Secondary)

The 36-week programmes work developmentally to improve the child’s performance in every aspect of their life. Without development of the child’s motor and sensory systems they will always struggle to process, learn and remain focused in the educational setting. By integrating our programmes you will be providing the child with success, helping them to reach their full potential.Consultations can take place termly so the programmes can be monitored along with the child’s development.

Manuals will provide a step-by-step guide of how to deliver the programme. These are designed in line with the curriculum providing therapy time to children following programmes with successful outcomes in line with school targets.

EARTH Handwriting Programme Manuals (EYFS - KS4)

This is a classroom-based handwriting programme as Future Steps has recognised how disruptive it can be to remove children from the classroom.

It runs over two terms and can be adapted to incorporate individual schools letter scheme or font. The Earth Handwriting Programme takes ten minutes to complete on a daily basis and includes a range of multi-sensory techniques.
